- This will be the second time in as many years that the Galaxy and Real Madrid have faced off. Madrid won the 2010 match 3-2 after being down two.
- The match will be played at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. The 2010 edition was held at the Rose Bowl.
- This will be Kaka’s first match against the Galaxy, having missed out on last year’s match through injury.
